Survivor: Northeastern

As president and host of Survivor: Northeastern, I used engineering skills to help make new and exciting challenges we had never used before. By utilizing Northeastern's Makerspace, I 3D-printed designs for challenges during the season, and continue to work on designs for the club as a member of the Challenge Design Committee.

Simmotion

This project was a smaller-scale re-creation of the CBS Survivor challenge "simmotion". Players have to roll balls down an alternating track as more and more balls get added over time without dropping any of them (A YouTube video of the full-scale CBS version can be found here). This simpler version utilized two separate tracks, leaving it up to the players to alternate where they dropped each marble.

Because the challenge was simplified due to time constraints, I'm currently working on an updated version that features an automatic track alternation. I plan on 3D-printing this model over the summer. Screenshots of the CAD models for this one are shown below.

3D Puzzles

Puzzles are an important part of the challenges we do throughout the semester, so I'm currently working on 3D-printing puzzles that have never been used in our club before. The puzzles are designed in SolidWorks and typically inspired from puzzles seen on the CBS show. We have designs for standard two-dimensional puzzles as well as 3D puzzles that are more complex. Once the puzzles are printed, they'll be tested for timing and feedback.
